Gretchen Fritz is the Republican candidate for Will County Recorder of Deeds. Gretchen will bring fresh eyes to the processes and policies of the Recorder’s office to find innovations and efficiencies that can reduce operating costs—saving the taxpayers money—while maintaining excellent customer service for Will County property owners. She will seek input from and collaboration with township assessors, realtors and other stakeholders. Gretchen will end the current practice of no-bid contracts for large purchases.
Gretchen has been endorsed by Mark Batinick, State Representative and realtor; Jean Kelly, DuPage Township Assessor; Joseph Kral, Frankfort Township Assessor; Erin Kljaich, Plainfield Township Assessor; Chuck Kern, Wheatland Township Assessor; Shirley Kusta, Recorder of Deeds, 1988-1992; Laurie McPhillips, Recorder of Deeds, 2004-2008; and the Homer Township Republicans.
Gretchen Fritz currently serves as a Will County Board Member and Forest Preserve District of Will County Commissioner for County Board District 5. She was elected to the board in 2014 and 2018. Her day job is as a branch office administrator for Edward Jones Investments. She is also a freelance writer and editor. She is a regular contributor to The Illinois Shooter, the official publication of the Illinois State Rifle Association.
Gretchen is the Vice Chair of Communications for the Will County Republican Central Committee. She has been a Republican precinct committeeman in Plainfield since 2009. She is a past chair of the Will County Young Republicans and subsequently was the treasurer for many years. She also was the secretary of the Federation of Illinois Young Republicans for one term. She has recently moved up from Vice Chair to Co-Chair of the Illinois State Rifle Association Will County Grassroots Chapter. Gretchen was recently elected to the Illinois State Rifle Association Board of Directors.
Gretchen attends church in Bolingbrook at Fellowship Chapel of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. She serves as the assistant treasurer and as a deacon there.
Gretchen earned a Master of Library and Information Science degree from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Science degree in music business at Millikin University.
